Monday Essentials: Town Council Meets Tonight
Five things you need to know this week in Londonderry.

1. TODAY'S FORECAST: Morning showers and a high of 66 will make way for a chilly night with clear skies and a low of 39.
2. TOWN COUNCIL MEETS TONIGHT: The council is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. in the Moose Hill Council Chambers. The Londonderry Arts Council will also meet at 7 p.m. in the Sunnycrest Conference Room.
3. LANCERS WIN: The Londonderry High School Lancers football squad moved to 2-0 on Friday with a 36-34 win at Goffstown. The squad will host Bedford on Sept. 20.
4. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On September 16, 1908, Buick Motor Company head William Crapo Durant spends $2,000 to incorporate General Motors in New Jersey. Durant, a high-school dropout, had made his fortune building horse-drawn carriages, and in fact he hated cars--he thought they were noisy, smelly, and dangerous. Nevertheless, the giant company he built would dominate the American auto industry for decades.
