MANCHESTER, NH — Police remain on the scene at a multi-unit building on Bodwell Road in Manchester.

On Monday fire, police and EMS responded to the location at 11:55 a.m., and while in route MFD and AMR were asked to stage away from the scene.

According to a resident in the building, police went door to door and required everyone to leave the building. Several patrol officers, detectives, and the chief of police were on the scene.

Fire and EMS were told they could leave the scene and did not transport anyone from the scene. MPD Detectives gathered outside the building appearing to review something several times on a cell phone in the detective's hands.

The Manchester police crime scene van arrived and detectives also used crime scene tape to cordon off a silver vehicle parked in the rear of the building. Tuesday morning the crime scene tape had been removed from the area around the car.

A joint press release from the NH Attorney General’s Office and Manchester Police said, "Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and Manchester Police Chief Allen D. Aldenberg announce that officials are responding to two untimely deaths in Manchester, New Hampshire.” The press release indicated "additional information will be released as it becomes available."

The press release lacked any information about the age or sex of the people found in the building.

The press release did not indicate if authorities if there was any reason for the public to worry about their safety. The release also did not indicate when the autopsies of the two people would be completed. Police officers were stationed at the front entrance to the building on Monday and were confirming people were residents of the building before allowing them to enter.

A person from the NH Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was on the scene. She could be seen taking photos outside and then entered the building with Manchester Detectives. Typically the manner and cause of death are determined by an autopsy that occurs within 24-hours. The autopsy should allow for the death to be classified suspicious or of natural causes.

The multi-unit building is listed on the city of Manchester tax records as being condominiums, and most are listed to realty trust companies. Residents of the building said that many of the units are rented from the owners of the condominiums.

Residents inside the building said that the police activity in the building appeared to be happening on the first floor in the rear of the building.

As additional information becomes available we will publish updates.
