Shots Fired In Manchester Incident Led To Shelter In Place Order
William Merrell was arrested on charges after an incident on Beech Hill Avenue; cops say an alleged sexual assault led to the altercation.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police responded to 151 Beech Hill Avenue for a report of a male that discharged a firearm in the residence on Saturday.
When officers arrived at 1:17 a.m., they learned through their investigation a physical altercation ensued between two males which took place prior to the discharging of the firearm. A shelter in place was activated for the immediate area of the residence. Police said no one was injured by the firearm.
MPD Spokesperson Heather Hamel said that William Merrell, 48, of Manchester was taken into custody by officers. He was charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault, reckless conduct- deadly weapon, two counts of simple assault, criminal mischief, and falsifying physical evidence.

Officers discovered that an alleged sexual assault involving a child precipitated the physical altercation.
