Things Heating Up in Londonderry this Fourth of July Weekend

Here are five things you should know today in Londonderry.

1. The weatherman says ... Today's forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms, a high of 86 degrees and an overall 30-percent chance of precipitation.

2. Holiday heat wave?
 Mother Nature is bringing the heat this Fourth of July weekend, with temperatures hovering at and above 90 degrees each of the next four days. Here's a more detailed look at the upcoming forecast:

  • Thursday, July 4 - Mostly sunny with a high of 92 degrees and a 20-percent chance of rain.
  • Friday, July 5 - Partly cloudy with a high of 93 degrees and a 10-percent chance of precipitation.
  • Saturday, July 6 - Partly cloudy with a high of 90 degrees and a 20-percent chance of rain.
  • Sunday, July 7 - Partly cloudy with a high of 89 degrees and a 20-percent chance of precipitation.
3. Speaking of the the 4th ... Londonderry doesn't have Fourth Fourth of July fireworks but Derry's holiday display will be held on Thursday at dusk (approximately 9 p.m.), with the best suggested viewing areas along Tsienneto Road, Hood Commons, Folsom Road and Crystal Avenue.
