A preliminary investigation by the Candia Fire Department Command Staff determined that the ambulance driver suffered a medical event while operating the 2022 Ford F-550 Braun Ambulance.

After completing a prior transport, the ambulance returned to the station and traveled north on Old Candia Road. The ambulance veered into the opposite lane of travel and then off the roadway for approximately 200 feet, striking a traffic sign and several small trees, coming to rest in a water-filled ditch. The ambulance passenger was able to exit the vehicle and began to evaluate and treat the driver until additional units arrived on the scene.
