Woodmont Commons on Tonight's Planning Board Agenda
Here are six things you should know today in Londonderry.

1. On the agenda. The Londonderry Planning Board is scheduled to discuss the proposed Woodmont Commons development, which calls for the construction of more than 1,400 homes, three hotels and 800,000 square feet of commercial space on more than 600 acres in town. 2. TIF me, maybe? The Town of Londonderry now has a site set up on its website for the new proposed Tax Increment Finance (TIF) District, which is aimed at upgrading 1,200 acres of industrial property around Pettengill Road, between the Manchester-Boston regional airport and Route 28. 3. Old is good! The 2013 Londonderry Old Home Day celebration kicks off on Wednesday and runs through Sunday. Find additional details here!
4. The weatherman says ... So all the rain predicted for Tuesday barely arrived, but we're OK with that. Especially because today's forecast sets the stage for several beautiful days in a row. Today calls for sunny skies with a high near 76. Tonight, clear with a low around 50.
5. Welcome back! Londonderry High School alum and former gubernatorial candidate Kevin Smith returns to Londonderry this week to assume his new post as town manager. He is scheduled to begin work on Thursday, Aug. 15.
6. Don't go there ... Well, you can, but you may have to wait as Londonderry Town Hall will be closed on Aug. 15, from 12-1 p.m.
