  • New Hampshire residents are receiving an additional $7.65 million in Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) money to reduce home heating costs. The decision comes after the Biden administration added one billion to the LIHEAP. LIHEAP is a federal program that provides payment and energy crisis assistance to low-income residents to pay for gas, electric, heating oil, and other home heating sources. Eligibility for LIHEAP is based on income, family size, and availability of resources. For more information, visit capnh.org. (Manchester Ink Link)
  • A 64-year-old Manchester woman died Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle on Elm Street, police said. Officers responded to the scene near Auburn Street at around 6:30 p.m., where a vehicle heading southbound on Elm had hit a pedestrian who was in the roadway. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Anyone with information regarding the cause of this crash is urged to call (603) 668-8711. (WMUR)
  • Historic New England curator Nancy Carlisle is hosting the program "The History of America’s Kitchens from the Colonial Period to the Present." The event will be held by Manchester City Library via Zoom on Monday, Mar. 20 at 7 p.m. Carlisle will discuss the technological and social changes that have taken place and how the American kitchen has transformed people's lives.   • The owner of a month-long abandoned trailer in a Manchester driveway has been tracked down. Jeffrey Christensen was left with questions after someone dropped a trailer off in the driveway of his rental property. After many failed attempts to have it towed, the owner was tracked down and the trailer is gone. Christensen said it belonged to someone in a nearby building, whose landlord told him he was allowed to park there. (WMUR)
