5 Things: 10 Town Employees to be Honored for Service

Tax bills have been mailed. Contact the Town Clerk if you haven't received yours.

Here are five things you should know as you start your Thursday.

1. Tax Bills. Merrimack’s property tax bills have been mailed are due on December 10, 2012. Property owners who have not received their tax bill should contact the Tax Collector’s office at 424-3651 to arrange for a duplicate bill.  Bills not paid by December 10th are subject to 12% interest, per annum. 

2. Town Council. The Town Council will recognize 10 town employees for their years of service during their meeting tonight. Evelyn Gillis, Mark Akerstrom, Richard Barrows, Bruce Cornelius, Scott Simpson, David Trepaney and David Blaine will all receive watches in recognition of 25 years; Cecil Peters and James Taylor will receive a lamp recognizing 35 years of service and Becky Sullivan will receive a gift certificate in thanks for 40 years of service. The meeting will be in the Matthew Thornton Room (formerly the Town Hall Meeting Room) at 7 p.m. Get the full agenda online.

3. Winter Parking Ban. The town's winter parking ban begins today. The ban prohibits cars from being parked on the street between 11 a.m. and 6 a.m. through April 15. The ban also prohibits parking on the street at any time of day during a snow emergency. Read on for more information.
