5 Things: Dog Licensing Time is Here Again

Check out the Bedford Village Inn's ice bar this week.

Here are five things you should know as you start your Wednesday.

1. License your dog. 2013 dog licenses are now available at the Town Clerk’s office. All dogs four months and older are required by law to be licensed annually by April 30th.  To license your dog, we must have proof that your dog’s rabies shot is valid. In addition, if your dog is neutered or spayed, we need a copy of the neuter/spay certificate.

2. Drop-in storytime with Dudley. Each month reading therapy dog Dudley and his owner Karen Demyanovich hold a special 45 minute, drop-in storytime class. Bring a favorite book for Karen to read. Karen is a Reading Specialist who recently retired from the Merrimack School District. This event runs from 10:15-11 a.m. and  is open to Merrimack residents ages 3 and older with an adult caregiver; no registration needed. Younger siblings can also attend.

Enjoy carefully crafted ice sculptures, live music, great company, hot food and cool drinks at this once-a-year event. 5. Weather watch. Expect some wacky weather for January today. A warm front that was expected to clash with colder weather and bring a wintry mix in the early morning hours today will bring in warmer temperatures along with some rain in the afternoon. Rain is expected, mainly after 4 p.m., with patchy fog before 2 p.m. Otherwise, today will be cloudy, with a high near 55. Tonight, expect rain to continue with potential for a thunderstorm after 9 p.m. Low around 51. South wind 6 to 11 mph increasing to 13 to 18 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 48 mph.
