5 Things: FEMA to Reimburse 75% of Hurricane Sandy Costs
News and notes in a tidy morning package.

1. Give thanks. We want to know what you are thankful for this holiday season. 2. Holiday parade and tree lighting. Planning is underway for the annual Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. The event is hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department and Merrimack Chamber of Commerce. Mark your calendar and register your float by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 882-1046. More details will be available soon.
3. Hurricane Sandy reimbursement. The federal government has declared Hurricane Sandy eligible for federal funds. According to Town Manager Eileen Cabanel, the town of Merrimack will be completing the necessary paperwork to receive reimbursement for the storm. FEMA will reimburse 75 percent of the emergency response cost associated with Hurricane Sandy.

4. School Board Meeting. The Merrimack School Board will meet tonight in the Matthew Thornton Room (formerly the Town Hall Meeting Room) at 7:30 p.m. Among the agenda items is a discussion regarding consideration of a side bar agreement with the Merrimack Teachers Association regarding reduction in force. 5. Weather watch. Today's forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 49. tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 26.
