5 Things: Graduation Date is Set
Happy first day of spring, Merrimack! Good news, today's weather is going to be much better than yesterday.

1. 2013 Graduation. The date is set. Regardless of further snow dates, it's time to mark those calendars for June 15. Merrimack High School seniors will celebrate commencement the day before Father's Day (a perfect gift for all those proud dads out there). Time to alert the relatives who need to book reservations locally. Holiday Inn Express can be reached at 1-800-315-2621 , the Residence Inn can be reached at 603-424-8100 and the Comfort Inn can be reached at 603-429-4600.
2. Spring Equinox. Despite yesterday's massive snow dump, today is the first day of spring. The good news is today's forecast. Sunny skies and 40 degrees. The bad news is, we may have a little more snow coming Thursday before a great early spring forecast for the next several days. Take a closer look at today's forecast
- Sunny, with a high near 40. West wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
- Tonight, partly cloudy, with a low around 18. West wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm in the evening.
I think this deserves a cheer! S-P-R I-N-G, spring, spring, spring!

3. Zombies, run! Check out Library Director Yvette Couser's first blog post on Merrimack Patch. Read as she explains how some story telling, gaming and a horde of zombies are helping her get in shape for the Merrimack Firefighters 5k this fall. Read it now (and get a good book suggestion, too!)
4. Planning board rescheduled. Tuesday's inclement weather forced the Merrimack Planning Board to reschedule its meeting to Tuesday, March 26.

5. Go retro. Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to the Merrimack Public Library to travel back in time to party like it's 1989: play retro video games; make a wallet out of cassette tapes; enjoy some records on our turntable; and take a Polaroid photo of you and your friends. Prizes for the best retro outfit! Party from 3:30-5 p.m. The library will provide the snacks and wallet craft materials. Please register for this event!
