5 Things: House Vote on Gas Tax Today
Tonight is the Merrimack School District Deliberative session.

1. Deliberative session. The School Deliberative Session is scheduled for tonight in the All Purpose Room at James Mastricola Upper Elementary School at 7 p.m. Voters should meet to discuss the warrant, which includes articles for the budget, teacher contract, a new SAU office and more. Voting on the warrant will take place on April 9 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the same place.
2. Merrimack PTA open house. Visit the Merrimack PTA Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms and learn more about the school's programs on Thursday, March 7, from 12:45-1:30 p.m. or 6:30-7:30 p.m. Merrimack PTA Kindergarten & Preschool is at 10 Depot St. For more information visit

3. Dough-raiser. Sal's Pizza Merrimack has teamed up with James Mastricola Upper Elementary School's Parent Faculty Association to offer Sal's food for your family and to help the JMUES PFA raise some dough. Today, JMUES will receive 10 percent of all the sales all day long. Dine in or order take out by calling 424-3000.

4. Gas tax vote. State Rep. William O’Brien, R-Mont Vernon, and other Republicans in the New Hampshire House will propose a floor amendment March 6 to divert millions of dollars in highway funds from the state Department of Safety and other projects into direct road construction. It's one GOP effort to move up projects and derail a proposed which purports to raise $1 billion during the next 10 years. The House is scheduled to debate and vote on the gas tax proposal today. 5. Weather watch. Another winter storm appears to be on the way beginning Thursday morning, with potential for a little snow and rain today. The National Weather Service calls for a slight chance of snow showers before 10 a.m., then a chance of rain showers. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Tonight, a chance of rain showers before 8 p.m., then snow showers likely. Patchy fog after 11 p.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 29.
