5 Things: King Kone Opening Day Cometh

More signs of spring? We change our clocks forward this weekend.

Here are five things you should know as you start your Friday.

1. Ice cream on the way. For those of you who missed the photo on our Facebook page on Thursday, King Kone has put up its sign announcing its impending re-opening for the season – Saturday, March 23. And Axel's Food and Ice Cream is right around the corner, too. A message on their Facebook page says they generally open the last week of March, but it's conditional on weather as they have little heat in the building. We may have just been blanketed with snow again, but spring is coming!

2. Speaking of spring. This weekend it is time to spring our clocks ahead. That means an hour less sleep Saturday into Sunday, but it also means daylight until about 7 p.m. starting Sunday! Technically we change the clocks back at 2 a.m. Sunday, but your best bet is to change manual clocks on Saturday before you go to bed. Tech devices like phones, computers, tablets and cable boxes should change on their own.

3. Merrimack to Marrakech. A group of Merrimack students are visiting Morocco and blogging about their adventure. Check out their blog and see what they've been up to during their visit. It's full of plenty of beautiful pictures to check out. Visit the blog here.

4. Show your support. Don't forget! Merrimack plays Bedford High School in the boys varsity Div. II hockey final on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester. Dress in your blue and white and head out to support MHS.
