3. It's a Wonderful Life. Pontine Theatre’s Co-Artistic Directors, Marguerite Mathews and Greg Gathers, present their unique, table-top, version of the Frank Capra movie screenplay about George Bailey, a good man in a small town who gets a lesson in self-worth from his guardian angel. The actors bring the story to the stage with a unique combination of shadow puppets, bunraku-style puppets, commedia dell’arte-style masks, live action and a score featuring popular holiday carols. Following the 40-minute performance, audience members are invited on stage to meet the performers and get a closeup look at the set and props. This presentation, tonight from 7-8:30 p.m., is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library and is suitable for adults, teens and children age 10 and older. Registration is recommended as space is limited.
4. Things that make you go... WHAT?! Are you a fan of AMC TV's "The Walking Dead?" This guy apparently is too attached to it. An argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend over the zombie-infused show based on a comic book series led to a shooting and attempted murder charges in Williston Park, N.Y. A man allegedly shot his girlfriend in the back with a .22-caliber rifle following a heated argument over text message.
