5 Things: Raise Some Dough for JMUES Today
Mark your calendar for another ribbon cutting on Thursday morning at the Northeast Credit Union.

1. MEEP Registration. The Merrimack School District has begun enrollment for its inclusionary preschool program Merrimack Early Education Program, for the 2013-14 school year. Classes are at James Mastricola Elementary and Reeds Ferry Elementary schools and will include preschoolers with and without developmental or learning delays to provide opportunities for children to play and learn together. Additional information about the MEEP program can be found on the Merrimack School District website or by contacting Laura Bobitt at 424-6215. Children enrolled as typical peers must be Merrimack residents and will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
2. Dough-raiser. Sal's Pizza Merrimack has teamed up with James Mastricola Upper Elementary School's Parent Faculty Association to offer Sal's food for your family and to help the JMUES PFA raise some dough. Today, Feb. 6, JMUES will receive 10 percent of all the sales all day long. Dine in or order take out by calling 424-3000.
3. Blizzard of '78. Today is the 35th anniversary of the Blizzard of 1978 the dumped feet of snow on the northeast as heavy snow fell for 33 hours. High wind, heavy snow and coastal effects crippled New England, stranding cars on highways and people away from home for days. Share your photos and tell your stories about where you were and what you experienced during the Blizzard of '78.

4. Ribbon cutting. Northeast Credit Union will hold a ribbon cutting Thursday with the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce at its newest branch at 370 Daniel Webster Highway. Ribbon cutting is on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 8:30 a.m. Enjoy refreshments, tour the new branch, and meet Greg Kennedy, the branch sales and service manager. Register here.
5. Weather Watch. A little snow may be on the way this morning, but the heavier snow appears to be coming behind it on Friday. The National Weather Service says snow is possible before 8 a.m. Otherwise, Partly sunny, with a high near 38. Accumulation of less than a half inch expected. Tonight, mostly clear with a low around 12. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
