5 Things: Scholarship Applications Due at End of March

Get out to JMUES tonight for the annual town deliberative session.

1. Scholarship applications available. Information and directions for the annual scholarships offered at Merrimack High School is available, and applications are due in just two weeks. Get the list of applications and the details about how to apply right here. Applications due to Mrs. Sketchley in the guidance office by 3 p.m. on March 28.

2. Discuss the issues. Tonight is the annual town deliberative session reserved to discuss the budget and other warrant articles before they are put to a vote on April 9. The deliberative session starts at 7 p.m. in the James Mastricola Upper Elementary School's all-purpose room. Read more about what's up for discussion here.

3. Story time with Dudley. Each month reading therapy dog Dudley and his owner Karen Demyanovich hold a special 45 minute, drop-in storytime class. Bring a favorite book for Karen to read. This month's storytime is today from 10:15-11 a.m. Karen is a reading specialist who recently retired from the Merrimack School District. This event is open to Merrimack residents ages 3 and older with an adult caregiver; no registration needed. Younger siblings can also attend.

5. Weather watch. Today is the last day of warm weather before temps dip back down into the 30s for the next few days. The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies with a high near 52. Tonight there's a slight chance of snow showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29.
