5 Things: Win Your Thanksgiving Dinner

Here are five things you should know as you start your Wednesday.
1. Win your Thanksgiving dinner. The Merrimack Public Library is holding it's third annual Turkey Shoot on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Merrimack High School Cafeteria. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the raffles start at 6:45. This is a fun filled night of raffles that include 40 turkeys, 40 bags of vegatables, 40 gallons of cider, 40 fresh baked apple pies and a basket and lottery ticket raffles. This is a fundraiser with all the proceeds going to the Merrimack Public Library Building and Development Fund.

3. Breakfast with Santa. Tickets are now on sale for Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 15, which features an all you can eat pancake breakfas. This year’s event will be held at Uno’s Chicago Grill in Nashua from 8-10 a.m. and tickets are on sale beginning this week at Parent/Teacher conferences for only $5 per person. Digital photographs of your child with Santa will also be available for purchase for only $5 during the event. All proceeds from the breakfast go to the James Mastricola Elementary School's PATT to help fund activities for the school.
4. Read a classic. "On this day in 1851, Moby-Dick, a novel by Herman Melville about the voyage of the whaling ship Pequod, was published by Harper & Brothers in New York. Moby-Dick is now considered a great classic of American literature ... Initially, though, the book about Captain Ahab and his quest for a giant white whale was a flop." Information from History.com.

5. Weather Watch. Sunny skies are expected today, but with cooler, more November-like temperatures. The National Weather Service says today's high will be 46 degrees. Tonight, skies should remain clear with a low around 28.
