Chapter Chat - Teen Books
Tuesday July 2, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Find out what's happening in Merrimackfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to this book group just for them. You'll vote on the books we read, this summer inspired by our "Beneath the Surface" theme. Read the title ahead of time, then come to enjoy food and activities related to the book.
Our July book is SHARK GIRL, by Kelly Bingham. 16-year-old Jane survives a brutal shark attack, leaving her with only one arm. An award-winning art student, and the family cook, she's bewildered how to start again, not to mention scared of the stares she'll get from her classmates when school starts again. This book is told in poetry, newspaper articles, letters, and conversations - a very moving and unique read!
You can pick up a copy of SHARK GIRL at the circulation desk, and please register for this program so we can make enough food and activities. If you want to join us but didn't have time to read the book, that is fine - you can get a feel for what the book club is like, and help us choose our next selection!
