Bring a Designated Driver Out With You This Weekend

Egyptology. There are still eight spaces available for teens and 'tweens ages 10-18 to celebrate all things Egypt on Thursday. Enjoy Egyptian food, ancient art and clothing, mummies and mystery. Fans of Rick Riordan's "Mark of Athena"series, the "Egyptology" books, archeology and history – or anyone who loves everything Egypt will have a blast. Come to the Klumpp Meeting room from 3-5 p.m. on Aug. 1 for this international celebration. Register online or call 424-5021.
ICYMI. Bedford Police, in conjunction with New Hampshire State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in Bedford during this weekend. Like any other day, if you are planning on having a few drinks with dinner or are headed out to celebrate a big event, make sure to bring a designated driver with you.
Beautiful day. If you liked yesterday's weather, you'll love today's, too. The National Weather Service calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 85. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 62.
Middle school sports. Is your middle schooler planning to play fall sports? Tryouts are just a few weeks away for the Merrimack Middle School soccer, field hockey and cross country teams. All tryouts will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 26. Get more information about the paperwork and health exams needed to be completed in the next four weeks.
