ICYMI. While word has gotten around that Amber Alerts have been put on hold during the government shut down, fear not, as that information isn't true. Amber Alerts are run locally, so while the National Amber Alert webpage was down for a period of time, had an Amber Alert needed issuing, it would have been done through the local authorities without delay. Most websites run by the Department of Justice continue to be offline, but AmberAlert.gov is live for the foreseeable future. Read more about Amber Alerts during the government shutdown here.
