Cars Crash into Utility Poles; PSNH Brief Outage

PSNH had to replace the utility pole on Baboosic Lake Road.

Merrimack Police responded to two accidents in which one car crashed into a telephone pole and another struck a Public Service of New Hampshire pole. 

PSNH reported about 1,600 customers lost power around 4 p.m. as a result, and restoration occurred by about two hours later.

Merrimack police and fire responded to an accident, at 3:34 p.m., in which a car struck a telephone pole. Preliminary investigation is that the Wade Methe, 23, of 7A Ridge St. in Nashua, experienced a malfunction with his brakes, and crossed over the road to avoid hitting cars ahead of him. The Subaru Legacy then struck the pole.

The driver was evaluated at the scene and was not transported.

Later that night, police said Dominique Ketchie, 19, of 80 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, struck a PSNH pole on Baboosic Lake Road around 10:47 p.m.

Ketchie was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, while PSNH had to replace the pole. The Honda CRV she was driving sustained heavy front-end damage.
