Convicted Sex Offender Indicted on Sex Assault Charges
Man was charged for assault of 13-year-old boy in July.

Convicted sex offender Clyde Earl Shatney, 52, of 445 Willow St., Manchester, was indicted by a Hillsborough County grand jury in September on four counts of felonious sexual assault of a 13-year-old Merrimack boy.
According to court paperwork, Shatney performed sexual acts on the teen and forced the teen to perform sexual acts on him on July 19 in Merrimack.
According to information on the NH Sex Offender Registry's website, Shatney has a lengthy criminal history a sex assault conviction on March 12, 2010. Prior to that, Shatney's record includes convictions of attempted burglary on Oct. 14, 1983; issuing bad checks on Oct. 28, 1985; bail jumping on June 30, 1992; simple assault – two on Sept. 30, 1993, and one on April 21, 1998; obstructing the report of a crime or injury on April 21, 1998; and criminal threatening on July 14, 2008.

If convicted of the latest charges, Shatney faces up to 3 ½ – 7 years in prison and up to $4,000 in fines for the class B felony charges.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, but rather it's a determination that there is enough evidence to move a case forward to trial.
