Delays Expected on Baboosic Lake Road Today
Here are five things you should know as you start your Thursday.

1. It's just a drill. Avoid Baboosic Lake Road between the Merrimack Middle School on Madeline Bennett Way and James Mastricola Upper Elementary School today (5/23) between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. due to middle school evacuation drill. The road will be open, however, there will be delays as students are evacuated and returned to the school via bus.
2. Town Council meeting. The Merrimack Town Council will meet tonight in the Matthew Thornton Room at 7 p.m. for a regularly-scheduled meeting. Among the agenda items is a request from the Merrimack Fire Department for a new pumper truck in according with the Capital Improvement Plan. Get the full agenda here.
3. Donations accepted. The Merrimack Public Library's annual June Book Sale is just around the corner and donations are being accepted. Drop off books at the library during normal hours. The sale will be June 1 and 2 and will include items recently withdrawn from the library collection as well as items donated by members of the community. Drop by to see what treasures you might find! Saturday prices range from $.25-1.00 and Sunday afternoon pay the bargain price of $2-$5/bag! The June Book Sale is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library who receive half of the proceeds.

4. PM Networking. What do Kids Kove, the Fourth of July, Kelly Ayotte, and Jack Daniels have in common? All are or have been a part of the Rotary Club of Merrimack. Join the Rotary Club of Merrimack and the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce for a P.M. Networking event this evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the John O'Leary Adult Community Center, 4 Church St. There you can enjoy delicious food provided by The Stocked Fridge; complementary beer, wine,and refreshments; friendly networking at its best;and the chance to make some great new connections and to reconnect with those you already know! Remember, if you bring a door prize you will have the opportunity to address to the group with important news about your business. Bring plenty of business cards for networking and to enter to win one of the prizes.
5. Weather watch. Don't forget your umbrella and rain boots when you leave the house today. The forecast calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely after 1 p.m. Patchy fog before 11 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 79. Light south wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Tonight, showers are expected and rain could be heavy at times. Patchy fog after midnight. Low around 61. South wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
