Drug Compounding Industry Could See More Oversight
Here are 5 things you should know as you start your weekend.

1. Drug oversight. According to a Framingham Patch article, "A U.S. Senate committee on Wednesday unanimously approved legislation that would increase federal oversight for companies that compound and sell sterile drugs across state lines ...The proposed legislation was introduced following a deadly meningitis outbreak that killed more than 50 people and infected another 700 in 2012 (including here in New Hampshire.) The outbreak was traced to contamination found in steroid injections made by Framingham-based New England Compounding Center." Read more on this new legislation.
2. Show your pride. Did your child just graduate from college? Make the Dean's list? Earn a Master's degree? Announce it on Patch! An announcement is free and easy to post. Either click here or hover over the news tab above and click "Announcements" in the drop down menu. Click on the "Add an announcement" button and fill out the template with the pertinent information. Add a photo if you have one and click "Post My Announcement" and it will go live on the site. Questions? E-mail carolyn.dube@patch.com
3. Share your graduation photos. In honor of the upcoming commencement ceremonies, we thought it would be fun to put together a photo gallery of graduations from the past. Photos do not need to be of Merrimack graduations, but can be of you or your kids at their high school graduation ceremonies. There is a graduation photo gallery started here with some pictures from the first two MHS ceremonies we covered at Patch. Add your photos by clicking the "upload photos and videos" button
