Eversource Responds To Transformer Fire Parts Of Merrimack Lose Power
Camp Sargent Road area lost power when a utility line was damaged near Thorntons Ferry School. Crews are working to restore power.
MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack police and firerighters were dispatched to Camp Sargent Road for a transformer fire Monday morning just after 4 a.m.
While en route, they were advised a branch or tree was down on the primary power lines, and there was a possible fire. Responders quickly located the damaged utility lines directly across from the Thorntons Ferry School and closed the road to all traffic.
Eversource was notified and is at the scene and repairing the damage caused. As of 7 a.m., the power is out to a large area surrounding the incident.

According to a Nixel notification from Merrimack Police, the power is expected to be restored within 1.5 hours. However, that is an estimate.
At this time taco Sargent Rd is open to all traffic, it is unknown if the school will open at this time. Check the Merrimack School system for updates.
