Toll Removal Bill Headed to Senate for Vote
Proposal is an amended version of a bill presented by Sen. Peter Bragdon to the Ways and Means Committee to remove all the tolls from Merrimack.

One of Merrimack's three tollbooths could be shut down per a new iteration of SB 3, a bill presented to the Senate Ways and Means Committee last month by Senate President Peter Bragdon, according to an article in the Union Leader.
The committee voted 3-2 on Tuesday to recommend shutting down the ramp booths at Exit 12.
Calling the current system “unfair to the town and the people of Merrimack,” Bragdon's bill as it was presented recommended the elimination of the six tolling stations in light of other recent construction projects, like the Manchester Airport Access Road and the Granite Street Exit in Manchester, have added non-tolled turnpike access to drivers.

According to Sen. Chuck Morse, R-Salem, the increase in toll fares collected at Exit 10 since the Merrimack Premium Outlets is offsetting the collection at Exit 12.
Bragdon reacted to the vote saying, “While I would have preferred to see tolls at all three exits eliminated, I believe this is a big step in providing relief to fed up Merrimack residents.”
