FIRE LOG: Man Transported for Pressure Cooker Burns

Friday Nov. 23, 2012

8:48 a.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to a residence on Dodier Court to assist the occupant

Engine 1 responded and assisted the homeowner in trying to find a strange odor. Crews tested the air and found no smoke, gas or carbon monoxide issues. The smell may be related to recent septic system repairs.

12:56 p.m.: Station 1 and 2 were dispatched to the Merrimack Premium Outlets Mall for a reported shopper who had fallen.

Ambulance 1 and Engine 2 responded and found an elderly female who had fallen in front of Unit 419, Corningware. The patient was assessed and treated and refused transport.

4:22 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to a residence on Mallard Point Road for an adult male with burns from a pressure cooker.

Ambulance 1 responded and found an adult male with burns and bruising to his face from being struck with the lid from an operating pressure cooker. The patient was treated and transported to the Catholic Medical Center.

4:38 p.m.: Station 1 and 2 were dispatched to a residence on Mayflower Road for juvenile female who had fainted.

Ambulance 2 responded and found a juvenile female who was ill. The patient was assessed and refused transport.

5:02 p.m.: Station 1 and 2 were dispatched to a residence on Bowers Landing Drive for a male who had fallen outside the home.

Ambulance 2 and Engine 2 responded and found an elderly male who had fallen and injured his left hip. The patient was treated and transported to St. Joseph Hospital.

6:56 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to a multi-family residence on Oriole Court for an elderly male who was unresponsive.

Ambulance 1 and Engine 1 responded and found an elderly male with stroke like symptoms. The patient was treated and transported to Elliott Hospital.

8:05 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to a residence on Carrie Drive for a possible brush fire.

Utility 1 responded and found a legal permit burn with no issues.

8:10 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to the Merrimack Police Station to check a subject.

Ambulance 1 and Engine 1 responded and found a teenage male with an abrasion to his head. The patient was treated and left in the custody of the police department.

Saturday Nov. 24, 2012

4:49 a.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to stage at a residence on Daniel Webster Highway for an adult female who was threatening suicide.

Ambulance 1 responded and staged until cleared to approach the scene by police. Upon arrival they found an adult female who was threatening suicide. The patient was assessed and transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.

1:53 p.m.: Station 2 was dispatched to a residence on Northwood Drive to assist the occupant.

Engine 2 responded and found the homeowner having problems with a garbage disposal overheating. The disposal was unplugged and confirmed to be safe. The homeowner was advised to have the unit serviced before attempting to use it again.

8:35 p.m.: Station 1 and 2 were dispatched to a residence on Turkey Hill Road for a female with bleeding from a previous operation.

Ambulance 1 and Engine 2 responded and found an elderly female with bleeding at an incision from a previous operation. The patient was treated and transported to St. Joseph Hospital

10:52 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to a residence on Indian Rock Road for an adult male who had fainted.

Ambulance 1 and Engine 1 responded and found an adult male feeling ill with nausea and vomiting. The patient was treated and refused transport.

10:52 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to a residence on Wire Road to check an outside fire.

Engine 1 responded and found an unattended outside fire. The permit holder was found to have gone inside the residence without extinguishing the fire. The fire was extinguished and the permittee was explained the rules of burning that he had broken: He was burning too large a fire, the fire needed to be attended at all times, it was too close to his home and he had oversized logs in the fire.

Sunday Nov. 25, 2012

2:23 AM Engine 1 was dispatched mutual aid to the City of Manchester for station coverage.

Engine 1 responded and covered Manchester Station 2 for approximately two hours while Manchester Fire units were at the scene of a three-alarm structure fire.

11:40 a.m.: Station 1 and 2 were dispatched to Rivet Funeral Home for a fire alarm activation.

Engine 1 and 2 responded and found a false alarm due to smoke from cooking.

3:14 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to a multi-family residence on Oriole Court for an elderly female who had fallen.

Ambulance 1 and Engine 1 responded and had to force entry to reach the patient. They found an elderly female who had fallen. The patient was treated and transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.

6:48 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to Lawrence Road for a reported motor vehicle accident.

Ambulance 1 and Engine 1 responded and found a single car motor vehicle accident, a car into a tree. A teenage patient was assessed and refused transport.

9:41 p.m.: Station 1 was dispatched to a multi-family residence on Pond View Drive to stage for the police department for a possible assault.

Ambulance 1 and Engine 1 responded and staged until cleared to approach the scene by police. Upon arrival they found an elderly female victim of an assault with multiple traumatic injuries. The patient was treated and transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.
