Garage Damaged in Sunday Night Fire

Merrimack firefighters quickly extinguished a garage fire on Silver Doe Lane on Sunday night that is believed to have started due to improper disposal of fire pit ashes.

No injuries were reported.

Merrimack Fire Department crews responded to 9 Silver Doe Lane around 9:42 p.m. on May 4 

Arriving firefighters found a resident trying to extinguish the fire with a garden house. Firefighters completely knocked the fire down. Damage to the detached garage was limited to one wall and the inner roof with extension to the eaves and outer siding.

A 2006 Honda Shadow motorcycle sustained minor damage, and other belongings in the garage were damaged by smoke and the heat.
