Workforce development
Throughout the spring, workforce development never stopped, with programs shifting to remote learning. Students returned to campus in June, including the Microelectronics Boot Camp, a 10-week intensive career training program that prepares students for entry-level microelectronics assembly and inspection positions at local companies. Students practice the latest wire and ribbon bonding techniques, and create a portfolio of their work for job interviews. After nearly four years of running the Boot Camp at NCC, the hiring rate for grads is about 95 percent. The program is accepting new students for the next session starting July 20.
