Get CPR Certified With Merrimack Fire Department Program

Here are five things you should know as you start your Monday.

1. CPR Certification. Merrimack Fire Department is offering a new low-cost CPR certification course for members of the community starting this Friday. The course is a matter of hours on one-day and participants can leave the course certified to perform a potentially life-saving skill. The Heart Saver program will be available on varying days and times and will include nights and weekends for those who work. The first program is this Friday, May 17, at 10 a.m. at the Merrimack Public Library. Call the fire department at 424-3690 for more information.

2. Photo of the Week. Do you enjoy taking pictures? Want your photo featured as Photo of the Week? Upload your own photos to the gallery at this link, or submit a photo to carolyn.dube@patch.com to be featured as the Photo of the Week. Photos can also be texted to 603-290-4045.

3. Just a drill. Thorntons Ferry Elementary School will conduct a drill on May 16, (rain date: May 17) from 1:30 to 3:15 p.m. Students and staff will walk from the school, located on Camp Sargent Road to Veterans Memorial Park, also located on Camp Sargent Road. During the drill, traffic will be re-routed around the Camp Sargent location under the direction of the Merrimack Police Department and Department of Public Works. The Merrimack Fire Department will also participate in the training drill that day. Next week, Merrimack Middle School will also participate in an evacuation drill. Read more here.
