Kuster to Talk Immigration Reform in Nashua
She'll host a roundtable discussion at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
Submitted by the Office of U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster:
This Monday, February 24th, Congresswoman Annie Kuster will hold a roundtable discussion with Nashua business leaders to discuss how passage of comprehensive immigration reform can help bolster our innovation economy. Kuster will be joined at the roundtable by Nashua business leaders.
Among other topics, roundtable participants will discuss the need for an immigration system that attracts highly skilled workers from around the world whose expertise can help our local innovation businesses succeed, and the importance of allowing foreign-born students educated in the USA to start businesses and create jobs here in America instead of taking their businesses abroad. Kuster will also express her commitment to providing America’s next generation of workers with the skills they need to compete in our increasingly sophisticated job market, and will outline her work to expand investments in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education programs.
Local business leaders will participate in the roundtable, which is being hosted by Parallel Wireless founder Rajesh Mishra, a foreign-born entrepreneur whose business is now employing nearly 40 people.
As a member of the U.S. House Small Business Committee, Kuster recently released a Middle Class Jobs and Opportunity Agenda, a blueprint that outlines common sense, bipartisan steps to help create jobs in New Hampshire, including passing the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act, which would comprehensively reform our immigration system, create a new STEM education fund, and help New Hampshire businesses recruit highly skilled workers to help grow businesses in the United States.
