Local Finds: Honeydew Studio on Etsy
A new feature about local finds and fun in different places.
There are plenty of local storefronts in Merrimack to shop small, but have you ever searched a site like Etsy to find a unique gift or a fun collectible?
A chance encounter with a Bedford woman last Thursday evening, who sells cute fleece lined winter hats on Etsy started the juices flowing. What else can we find locally on shopping sites, Craigslist, etc?
So here's the first installment of Local Finds.

While browsing through a search of shops from Merrimack I spotted the button above. Being a Walking Dead fan (which is the show the button references, for the uninformed) and being that the show is returning after it's mid-season break, this seemed like the natural choice.
Enter Honey Dew Studio. This is what the owner, Nicole Blanchette Huot says about her shop.

I am a New Hampshire-based graphic designer and illustrator.
For the past 12 years, I have been creating children’s illustrations on commission and doing a small amount of freelance work here and there. In 2007, I opened Honeydew Studio in order to continue selling the prints and gift items I created for art fairs.
In 2007, HGTV spotted my Etsy shop and contacted me to be taped for their contemporary craft show, That’s Clever. They paid me a visit that August, and spent a day with me in my studio as I created one of my bee ornaments and one plush character. I had a blast! The episode aired November of 2011.
My website can be found at http://www.nicolehuot.com.
Check out Huot's shop for a range of fun buttons as well as some artistic prints and more.
