Man Arrested for Assault With Wooden Tray

A Merrimack man accused in a violent attack against someone at his home is due in court on Monday to answer to the charges.
Brian Kelly, 44, of Woodland Drive, Merrimack, was arrested on Feb. 14 and charged by Merrimack Police with three counts of domestic-related simple assault.
Police say they arrested Kelly on a warrant at 4:44 p.m. stemming from information learned earlier that day that Kelly had been involved in an incident at his home in which he allegedly assaulted a person in the household.

An investigation into the incident indicated that Kelly threw a wooden stool and tray table at the victim and grabbed his or her by the throat during the altercation. Kelly was arrested and released on $6,000 personal recognizance bail and ordered to appear in the 9th Circuit District Division Court in Merrimack to answer the misdemeanor charges. A misdemeanor is punishable by a year in jail and/or a $2,000 fine.
