Man Charged After Hitting Car, Trying to Flee
Police say Hooksett man was arrested for conduct after and accident and OUIL.

A Hooksett man was arrested late last week after police say he hit another car while attempting to flee police trying to stop him for speeding.
Christopher Lajoie, 26, of 3 Dartmouth St., Hooksett, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and conduct after an accident when he was arrested just before midnight on March 14.
Merrimack Police say they clocked a vehicle traveling 59 mph in a 35 mph zone on Daniel Webster Highway. The officer, who was traveling in the opposite direction of the car, driven by Lajoie, turned around to pursue the vehicle. As the officer neared to the car, he observed it rear end another vehicle near Crosswoods Path Boulevard in and continue toward Bedford, according to a press release from Merrimack Police.

The officer caught up to Lajoie near the Bedford town and arrested him for conduct after an accident. He was subsequently charged with operating after the influence of liquor. He was released on $3,500 personal recognizance bail, but taken to Valley Street Jail for protective custody. He is due in Merrimack's 9th Circuit Court, District Division, on March 19 to answer to the charges.
The driver of the vehicle that was rear-ended was not injured in the accident.
