Man Charged with Lying on Gun Application
Police say Merrimack man withheld past domestic violence charge when seeking pistol permit.

A Merrimack man turned himself in to police on Friday on a warrant issued when police discovered he'd lied on an application for a pistol permit.
Leonard Warner Jr., 52, of 23 Derry St., Merrimack, was charged with unsworn falsification when he turned himself in on June 7.
Police say Warner came in to the Merrimack Police Station on May 24 to apply for a pistol/revolver concealed weapons permit. While filling out the application, Warner indicated that he had never been convicted of a domestic violence crime.

However, while conducting the standard background investigation performed for all pistol/revolver permit applicants, it was discovered that Warner had been arrested and convicted of domestic assault and battery in March 1995, out of the Lowell (Mass.) District Court.
Warner was arrested on the class B Misdemeanor charge and released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail. He will be arraigned on June 20 in the 9th Circuit Court District Division in Merrimack.
