Man Charged with Simple Assault

Merrimack Police arrested a local man on a charge of simple assault for an alleged domestic violence-related assault June 17.

Police said Richard Saggs, 54, of Beech Street in Merrimack, was charged after an argument at a residence.

Saggs was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail and he was scheduled to appear before the 9th Circuit Court in Merrimack on June 19 to answer to the charge.
