Man Found Asleep Behind the Wheel Arrested

Manchester man was allegedly sleeping on the side of the road with the car in gear.

A Manchester man was arrested for operating under the influence of drugs and possession and transportation of marijuana after police say they found him asleep at the wheel with the car still in gear.

Corey Martin, 20, of 128 Gantry Lane, Manchester, was charged on Monday morning when a Merrimack Police officer came upon a car partially off the roadway on Smith Road near the entrance to Citizen's Bank.

Police say they found Martin asleep in the driver's seat, the car running and still in gear. After waking him, officers said they noticed signs of impairment and found him in possession of marijuana.

He was arrested and released on $3,000 personal recognizance bail. He is scheduled to be in Merrimack district court on Jan. 8.
