Man Indicted on Felonious Sex Assault Charges

Eric Cousens was sought by police in middle of April for allegedly taking advantage of teenage girl.

A Merrimack man charged with sexually assaulting a teenage girl back in April was indicted by a Hillsborough County Superior Court grand jury in June on two felony charges.

Eric K. Cousens, 43, of 222 Amherst Road, was charged with two counts of felonious sexual assault of the teenager back on April 1.

According to court documents at the time of his arrest, Cousens knew the teenage girl, 15, of Amherst, and had an established, non-sexual relationship with her before this encounter occurred.

Both charges are class B felonies punishable by up to 3 1/2 to 7 years in prison and up to  $4,000 in fines.

An indictment is not a finding of innocence or guilt, it is a grand jury's determination that there is enough evidence to bring a case toward trial.
