Man Who Drove Into House Charged

Merrimack police concluded their investigation of a car that struck a house on Amherst Road on April 26 and have charged the driver with negligent driving.

Joseph Matthes, 20, of 14 Mason Road, Merrimack, was served a summons for the violation, police said.

Police said that Matthes was reaching for an item in his 1999 Honda CRV when he lost control and veered off the roadway and into the house.

Matthes was taken April 26 to Southern NH Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries from the accident.
