Meet Your Professional Firefighters of Merrimack at Friday Breakfast

Drainage project. The Town of Merrimack Public Works Department will host a public information meeting to discuss the proposed drainage and roadway improvements project that is scheduled to occur on Hillside Terrace. The meeting will be on Thursday, Aug. 1, 6 p.m. in the Town Hall Memorial Meeting Room. The project proposes to reconstruct approximately 450 feet of roadway and add drainage structures and pipe to eliminate the large puddle that occurs near 25 Hillside Terrace. A draft plan of work is linked below. The public meeting will include a brief presentation of the project with plans followed by a question and answer period for individual concerns. Following the meeting, final plans will be developed for construction later this fall or next spring. ICYMI. The NH attorney general on Wednesday issued a scam alert, regarding a phone scam that has been reported numerous times by New Hampshire residents who say the caller is attempting to dupe people into giving sensitive information about their bank account to the person over the phone. It is easier than ever to start a blog on Patch and we are looking for passionate sports enthusiasts who want to share the latest news and information about their favorite local sports team. Don't let the term "blog" scare you away. You aren't expected to craft a big, long article about everything that happened during the game. Though, if that's your MO, that's fine too. But a blog can be anything from pictures, to pictures and stats, to highlight from a game, to announcing an upcoming fundraiser or accomplishment by a player or players on the team. You don't have to be a sport blogger to start blogging on Patch right now. the more community voices we sharing news and information on Merrimack Patch, the stronger a community hub it will be. From the Merrimack Public Library on Facebook: "We've just cleared 1,100 hours of reading this summer! But our ultimate goal is 4,000 hours, upon which the Friends of the Merrimack Library can make a great donation to the High Hopes Foundation of NH! So turn in those reading logs, so we can see those reading hours grow!" There is still time to log and share your hours with the library. Read on to learn more about the summer reading program, which is winding to a close.
