Merrimack Man Assaulted Woman: Police

Merrimack police said Eric Dearborn was grabbed a woman by the neck in a residence and refused to let her leave.

MERRIMACK, NH — A Merrimack man was arrested over the weekend after police said he assaulted a woman inside a town residence and refused to let her leave. Eric Dearborn (pictured), 28, of Merrimack, was charged with a host of crimes.

Merrimack police Sergeant William Gudzinowicz said the incident happened Sunday night.

"Dearborn assaulted the victim by putting his hands around her neck, grabbed her hair and wrists, and temporarily prevented her from leaving her residence by sitting on top of her," Gudzinowicz said in a statement.

Dearborn was arrested at his residence — where Gudzinowicz said he struggled with officers — and held on $50,000 bail pending an arraignment. He was charged with two counts of domestic assault, two counts of second-degree assault, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and false imprisonment.
