Merrimack Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Juvenile Girl

A Merrimack man was held over the weekend on $25,000 cash-only bail following his arrest on Saturday on charges that he sexually assaulted a juvenile female.

Ricardo Sousa, 33, of 34 Cota Road, Merrimack, was charged with six counts of sexual assault an one count of witness tampering after he turned himself in to police on a warrant on Sept. 21.

Police say they began investigating a sexual assault of a juvenile female on Sept. 9 and Sousa was implicated as the person involved. Through their investigation, police issued a warrant for Sousa, who subsequently turned himself in. 

He was held in the Hillsborough Country House of Correction pending arraignment in Merrimack district court on Sept. 23.
