Merrimack Police: Man Assaults Woman, Tries To Break Into BAE

Merrimack police said Charles Deas assaulted a woman in a gas station then tried to break into nearby BAE Systems.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack police said a man was arrested last week after he assaulted a woman at a gas station on the Daniel Webster Highway then tried to break into a nearby BAE Systems facility. Charles Deas (pictured), 39, with no fixed address, was charged with multiple counts of domestic violence.

Merrimack police Sergeant William Gudzinowicz said the incident happened Wednesday at about 12:30 p.m. Officers were called to the gas station after Deas allegedly "put his hands around (the woman's) throat, then grabbed the woman by the arm and pulled her out of the gas station," Gudzinowicz said in a statement.

Deas then fled on foot and jumped the fence onto BAE property and tried to break into the building, according to Gudzinowicz. He was quickly arrested.
