Merrimack Police: Man Violated Protective Order Over Social Media

Merrimack police said Aaron Mattil violated a protective order by trying to contact a victim over social media.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack police on Wednesday arrested a 29-year-old Manchester man after he allegedly tried to contact a protected victim through social media. Aaron Mattil was charged with violating a protective order. Police issued a warrant for his arrest after receiving a complaint July 2.

"Mattil allegedly attempted contact with the victim in this case by means of a popular social media application," Merrimack police Lieutenant Eric Marquis said in a statement. "The contact was in direct violation of a protective order in place protecting the victim."

Mattil was released on $250 bail pending an arraignment August 16 in Merrimack District Court.
