Merrimack Onramp Closed Due To Tractor-Trailer Accident
An Alabama truck hit a wall, causing a diesel fuel spill on the Everett Turnpike Saturday; snowy conditions in NH led to multiple accidents.
MERRIMACK, NH — Snowy conditions throughout New Hampshire led to several accidents across the state — including a serious tractor-trailer accident in Merrimack on Saturday.
The tractor-trailer was on the southbound onramp from Industrial Avenue leading to the F.E. Everett Turnpike when the driver lost control of the truck. The truck slammed into a granite wall rupturing the diesel fuel tank and then jackknifed blocking the onramp.
Merrimack Fire Rescue and New Hampshire State Police responded and closed down the onramp at about 4:15 p.m.

Firefighters immediately medically evaluated the driver who refused medical treatment. Crews determined the fuel tank to the truck was damaged and diesel fuel was spilling onto the roadway. Firefighters used absorbent material to stop the diesel from spreading further, and a tow truck was called.
State police are handling the investigation of the accident. The truck was registered out of Alabama and the cargo portion of the tractor-trailer was not damaged.
