Merrimack police said Maria Hernandez was arrested after beating a family member on the head.

MERRIMACK, NH — A Merrimack teenager was arrested Monday after police said she beat a family member over the head. Maria Hernandez (pictured), 18, was charged with domestic violence. She was released on $1,500 bond pending an arraignment Tuesday in Merrimack Superior Court.
Merrimack police Lieutenant Eric Marquis said officers responded to Eden Street Monday at 3:30 p.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance.
"Upon arrival officers completed an investigation and determined that Maria Hernandez, who had already left the scene, was to be arrested for domestic violence," Marquis said in a statement. "Hernandez allegedly struck a family member in the head during an altercation at the residence. Hernandez turned herself into the police department a short time later."
