Merrimack Woman Arrested After Slap: Police

MERRIMACK, NH — A Merrimack woman was recently arrested on charges she slapped an individual in the face. Joanne Diaz (pictured), 50, was charged with assault, domestic violence-related. She was released on bond.

Merrimack Police Lt. Kenneth MacLeod said Diaz was arrested Tuesday after the victim walked into the police station.

"It was reported that a verbal argument had taken place with another family member and that family member had slapped the victim across the left side of the face with an open palm," MacLeod said in a statement.

Officers soon located Diaz and placed her in custody, according to MacLeod.
