The following information was provided by the Merrimack Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A Nashua woman is facing a theft charge for taking a car from the home of a friend in Merrimack without asking permission.

Jennifer Fisher, 36, of 24 Seminole Drive, Nashua, was arrested by Merrimack Police on a warrant for theft – unauthorized use of a vehicle, after she allegedly took the car without permission and drove to Nashua.

Police say they began their investigation just after midnight on July 7 when they took a report of a stolen car from a woman who'd stayed at a friend's house in Merrimack after a Fourth of July celebration. The victim said she stayed at her friend's house the night of July 5 and when she woke up on July 6, her car was missing.

According to an investigation conducted by police, it was determined Fisher had taken the car and driven to Nashua where she was involved in a minor accident.

Based on the investigation, a warrant was issued for Fisher and she was arrested and transported to Merrimack Police Station where he was processed and released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail. She is due in court to be arraigned on Aug. 19.
