No Injuries in Crash That Snapped Pole Today

Police still investigating the early-morning, single-car crash.

Merrimack Police are still investigating an early-morning accident that snapped a telephone pole on Daniel Webster Highway this morning, but they say no one was injured in the crash.

Joshua Gallagher, 24, of Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, was driving a 1997 Lincoln Continental headed southbound on Daniel Webster Highway when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line and struck a telephone pole near Twin Bridge Road, police say..

The force of the crash snapped the pole, on the northbound side of the road, in half. The crash was called in at 4:21 a.m. and created some traffic delays during the morning commute while crews from PSNH worked to repair the damage.

Around noon, a police officer remained stationed in the parking lot at Sal's Pizza and Broadway Bound Performing Art Center. Fairpoint trucks were stationed across the street.
