Pack Your Summer With Fun Activities
Here are five things you should know as you start your Thursday.

1. Plan your summer. Signups are continuing with the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department for summer programs that include camp, swimming lessons and a variety of sports lessons. Complete program and registration information is available on the town website at www.merrimacknh.gov. Registration forms are also available at Town Hall, Merrimack Public Library and the Parks and Recreation Office. To have the information mailed to you, please call the Parks & Recreation office at (603) 882-1046 or email parksdept@merrimacknh.gov.
2. Paws to Read with Dudley. Children ages 4 and older, (as well as teens, adults and everyone in between!) who would like to practice their reading skills can read to Dudley, a certified therapy dog, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The library will have reading materials available, but you are welcome to bring your favorite choice. Need to practice reading aloud in a foreign language? That's fine too! To reserve a 15 minute time slot, register online or call the Children's Room at 424-5021. Use an adult Merrimack Library card to register. *Dudley will be accompanied by his companion Reading Specialist Karen Demyanovich who recently retired from the Merrimack School District .
3. Boost your yard sale earnings. Every weekend in Merrimack is an opportunity to sell your stuff to yard sale junkies. Whether you are a homeowner, church or civic organization, let the community know about your event by posting it for free on our events calendar. Add your yard sales by Thursday morning, and we'll add them to our weekly roundup of the wheres and whens. Read more here.

4. Cool concept. A Nashua pizzeria not far from Merrimack's border is unveiling a cool new concept after a short closure for renovations at the beginning of June. Crush Pizza is going after the "fresh casual" concept that is so popular with places like Chipotle, Qdoba and Subway. It's the area's first pizza assembly line where you choose your toppings as the pizza while moving down the counter. Crush's ability to cook a pizza in about 90 seconds should make this style of ordering possible. Read more about the plans and the other tasty feature the restaurant will bring.
5. Weather watch. Today starts a stretch of hot, hot, hot days. Expect sunny skies, today, with temperatures climbing to a high near 91. West wind 5 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Tonight, patchy fog after 5 a.m. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 62.
